Freedom is following the path your being sets out for you. Henri Matisse

What moves me

In my artistic work, I explore us humans and our relationship to nature. I gained formative experiences while travelling and encountering foreign cultures, especially indigenous people.
The respectful way indigenous people treat nature has deeply impressed me. These kind of experiences influence my art work also in our cultural context. I am looking for ways to express my attitude and my emotions to portray landscape, people and architecture subjectively.

My paintings are based on my own photographs as well as painting outdoors.Through painterly modifications (colourchanges, focus, etc.) I want to reflect and also highlight the character and spirit of my subjects. I am always drawn to colours: warm and cool hues, the bright but also the dark power. I am fascinated by the interplay of light and shadow as well. With colours that are
not naturally I am searching to express my inner processes artistically.

My focus is on the beauty and abundance of nature. In my work I do not address critical developments in the world, which are rightly discussed elsewhere. I want to enable viewers to pause and experience a moment of silence. Because when we become aware again of how we respect and love nature, we are also ready to stand up for it. I want to contribute to these efforts, due to the frequent exploitation of nature on our planet.
